Each beautifully illustrated book by nationally talented artist, Bob Ostrom, should be part of any child's literacy collection. The Boomer and Halley books employ a breakthrough parent-child learning approach that allows the adult reading with the young child to teach core values. The values like: manner, sportsmanship, healthy eating, self-esteem, leadership, respect for property, obeying parents, cleaning up messes, honesty, forgiveness and so on, are embedded in each Boomer and Halley storyline. They are highlighted with a PAW print that gives the adult the opportunity to pause and discuss the life lesson as they wish. A perforated bookmark with prompting questions for the juvenile reader is included with each book to help with this approach to language arts.
